Counting days.
Lagi 10 hari nak gi Bangkok, satu apa pun aku tak plan lagi. Busy nak siapkan paper, buat poster, prepare nak jumpa supervisor.
I am going alone, belasah je lah. Ala-ala gamble gitu. Nasib baik sampai airport Bangkok nanti ada welcome team from the secretariat sambut. So terus gi hotel, esok tu seharian training, diikuti 3 hari conference and workshops.
I am staying area Sukhumvit. Pastu tumpuan utama mengikut minat aku tentunya lah tempat shopping bende-bende eksotik (bukan haiwan eksotik naaaa) yang takde kat Malaysia ni. Alang-alang dah sampai, haruslah explore sampai lembik.
How I wish cik abang leh teman..
But hidup kena berani. Kadang-kadang kena pandai bawak diri sendiri.

Nota penutup: Kalau dia kata dress code “casual dress”, boleh pakai jeans tak?
wah, bestnye! pergi bangkok!
dont forget to drop by the Chatuchak Weekend Market, Suan Lum Night Bazaar & also any of the floating markets tau! my sister kata the clothes kat chatuchak tu are really cheap! and i saw on tv dulu the floating market tu jual nice tomyam. tapi check kalau halal dulu ok?

casual dress code tu depends… but just bring ur jeans. tapi to be safe u boleh pakai khaki slacks or smart tops. kalau 1st day tu ramai pakai jeans, pakai je! or else check with the organisers!
have fun leeds! =)

Sukhumvit is a long street so am not sure which hotel you would be putting up but you should be close to one of the BTS Skytrain stations. As traffic is almost always at standstill, I suggest you take the skytrain.
For mall shopping, you should go to Siam Paragon. It beats KLCC anytime! Kalau you have time, I suggest you see a movie at Paragon Cineplex — get the THB600 ticket (about RM60) and you’ll get the best cinema experience. If you do go, before the movie starts, there will be a tribute to the King — you need to stand up as a mark of respect.
If you are tired of hotel food, you can find halal food around Asoke (there is a BTS stop to this station).
Chatuchak Weekend Market is always fun but as the name suggests it’s only on Saturdays and Sundays. It’s a real huge market so it is easy to get lost so my advice is to make the clock tower as your landmark. You can take the skytrain to get here. If you are taking the cab, it will cost about THB200 if from Sukhumvit and ask to go on tollway (you pay additional) Do insist that the driver uses the meter. They are pretty good about using meters but there will be some who will try to fleece you.
Since you are alone, Patpong Night Market is not advisable. I also don’t like tuk tuk rides but if you want to try make sure you agree on the fare befor you get on it.
Enjoy your trip!
